The Fight: My Battle With Depression

Christopher Bussard is a man who seems to have it all together. A professional firefighter with deep ties to his community, he's living the Colorado life that most people want with a beautiful family, a great home adjacent to coveted open space, good friends, and plenty of time enjoying the great outdoors. But there's a problem. He can barely enjoy a minute of it as he goes the distance in his lifelong battle with depression, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. This book is Bussard's testimony of what it means to struggle well. Christopher Bussard is a firefighter with more than 16 years of experience, starting at age 21 as a volunteer. In 2017, he initiated his fire department's peer support program, which works closely with other peer support teams in the Denver area. Christopher is a Colorado native, born and raised in Boulder County. He lives in northern Colorado with his wife and three children. When not working or writing, he enjoys woodworking, archery, hiking, fishing, and enjoying all that Colorado has to offer.
